After a morning of exploring what “the (literal) State of Israel” means to different organizations and seeing the separation wall, we had a fun afternoon of adventure at Deerland Park! In such a packed weekend from one program to the next, it was much appreciated to just take a deep breath in the forests of K’far Eztion. With our first steps on the acres of land, all of our jaws dropped as we were walking through a child’s dream brought to life both on the ground and in the air!
The attractions take adults and children alike to all heights imaginable, from bungee trampolines to 360-degree swings! In addition to the attractions with literal changes in air pressure, there are other attractions for people of all ages looking for some fun, from paintballing to horseback riding near the petting zoo. The most exciting thrill of all has to be the 400-meter long zipline that runs 120-meters high above a canyon! This zipline that almost all of the Nachshon Fellows trusted their lives to is the longest zipline in all of Israel, and the second longest in the world!
Rabbi Zeff often reminds us to look on to certain situations from 30,000 feet, to see the bigger picture, and the adventurous Nachshon Fellows who soared through the 100°F air saw just that: the bigger picture. Either through Snapchat or more natural forms of remembrance, those who flew through the air became a part of this bigger picture and will forever remember the feeling of becoming a part of it. Each of us supported one another in this knee-shaking, adventurous 30 seconds of soaring through the air, like we have supported each other throughout the semester, just with some screams of excitement that pierced the K’far Eztion like nothing else!
