What Is The Nachshon Project?

Our Mission

Our mission is to help young Jewish leaders like yourself take the first steps toward a meaningful, impactful career -- one that will shape the future of your Jewish community and make the world a better place.

Do what you love and make a difference

The Nachshon Project helps student-leaders like you turn your passion, curiosity, and drive into an impactful career in the Jewish community. And right now, emerging Jewish leaders like you are more important than ever before.

During a semester abroad in Israel, The Nachshon Project will help you explore a wide variety of careers where you can build toward a better, more just world... shape religious life for a generation... be the leader that you admired as a kid… and so much more.

And, you’ll have a blast along the way with a tight-knit Cohort of 35 passionate peers.

5 Reasons to Join The Nachshon Project

How do you know what you want to be, where you’ll make the most impact, and how to get started in that career? That’s where The Nachshon Project comes in.
During your semester in Israel, you will:

1. Meet Jewish leaders -- social justice activists, Jewish educators, non-profit professionals, and more -- who are making an impact through their careers and ask them for advice on how YOU can become a leader.

2. Get a headstart on your career path while other classmates aren’t even thinking about it yet.

3. Spend time understanding who you are as a Jew and what your Jewish identity means in relationship to others.

4. Live, learn, grow, and explore with a group of passionate Jewish peers.

5. Build relationships that will last a lifetime.

Here’s why a spring semester with The Nachshon Project matters:

Together with your Cohort, you’ll get to think about what community means to you, consider what you want your future community to look like, and determine what role you want to play in creating it.

And, because your semester will be spent in the heart of Jerusalem, you’ll also get to explore Jewish values, engage with classic Jewish texts, and connect with Jewish history to appreciate your place within the greater context of Jewish life.
