I really enjoyed Rabbi Zeff’s session on Kedusha. In many discussions that I know I have had before, I have envisioned “Kedusha” as just the Hebrew Word for “holy”. I have discussed the root and then have understood that words such as “Kiddush” and “Kaddish” are related. However, before this session with Rabbi Zeff, I had not tried to think of the deeper meaning behind the word “Kedusha” and what it really means when we say that something is holy. We talked about how different places, people, and times could be holy and I really enjoyed looking at and discussing this topic from a different viewpoint that I had not previously encountered. I also really liked that we classified “holy” or “Kedusha” as “separate”. The fact that something had to be separate from the normal, day-to-day to be holy was something that I had never thought about. This session really opened my eyes to a topic that I thought I had learned all that there was to know about, and I really enjoyed it!
