Hailing from East Brunswick, New Jersey, Jesse Ryan Nagelberg is a junior at the Conrad N. Hilton College of Hotel and Restaurant Management at the University of Houston. Prior to college, he graduated the Golda Och Academy in West Orange as the Hirsh Jacobson Fellowship winner. Jesse was instrumental in developing the school’s arts program, including founding its dance team. While in high school, Jesse started his own catering company, Chez Nagel Kosher Comfort Catering, and was active in the Hagalil Region of United Synagogue Youth. In college, Jesse is a recipient of the Christopher and Clara Hough Scholarship. He has held leadership positions both at his fraternity, Alpha Epsilon Pi, and at Houston Hillel, and he is involved with many other student organizations. During the 2015-2016 school year, he will serve as Houston Hillel's first ever Israel Engagement Intern. Jesse spends him summers at Camp Ramah Nyack. Following graduation, Jesse hopes to attend Rabbinical school and ultimately impact Jewish children through experiential education, working in Jewish camping administration.

Leah Beck

Leah Beck is an alumnus of URJ Camp Kalsman who is excited to be in Israel for the first time! Originally from Vancouver, Washington, Leah is using the skills she gained as president of her synagogue youth group and as vice president of Hillel at Western Washington University to bring a unique view of leadership to The Nachshon Project. Leah also worked as a bunk counselor at URJ Camp Kalsman. She loves art, reading, chanting Torah, and writing, and plans to use her experiences as a writer to explore her personal Judaism and to help others do the same. 

Megan Brumer

Megan Brumer, a junior at University of Washington, can't wait to learn from the other Fellows about their camp traditions and experiences, and how they differ from her experiences at URJ Camp Kalsman.  She comes to us from Bellevue, Washington, and she loves playing guitar, playing volleyball, and woodworking.  She even built an armoire for her younger sister!

Megan Zimmer

Megan Zimmer is a junior at Indiana University where she studies Youth Development and Jewish Studies.  Originally from right outside of the city of Atlanta, Megan looks forward to spending her summers at Ramah Darom in Clayton, Georgia. Other than the Nachshon Project, Megan has participated in a number of different fellowships including Cornerstone and Daber. She has also held leadership positions at her campus Hillel and through her sorority, Sigma Delta Tau.  Megan has been dreaming for years about having the opportunity to study abroad in Jerusalem. In the future, Megan hopes to stay connected with the Jewish camping movement and to help inspire others to connect to Judaism as strongly as she does!

Naomi Bennett

Hailing from Seattle, Washington, Naomi Bennett is now a junior at University of Oregon. Along with spending her summers at Camp Solomon Schechter, Naomi also loves yoga, reading, hanging out with her friends, and hiking. She's excited to be meeting new people and learning from them during this semester with The Nachshon Project.  Fun fact about Naomi: she doesn't have her tonsils anymore -- and she brought them into Show & Tell when she was 5!

Naomi LeVine

Naomi LeVine is a junior at the University of Florida, studying Family, Youth, and Community Sciences and minoring in Jewish Studies. She is a programming counselor at Camp Ramah Darom, which has led her to participate in various camp leadership and Jewish song leading conferences. At school, Naomi is an Interfaith Ambassador and is excited to return in the fall as Vice President of Programming for the organization. She is also involved in pro-Israel work on campus. Naomi enjoys traveling, singing, and photography, and in the future hopes to combine her passions for Judaism and working with families.

Peter Luck

After assuming various leadership positions at OSRUI and serving as Social Action Vice President of his NFTY region, Peter Luck found his passion in helping those in need. This inspired him to serve as the Senior Philanthropy Chair and develop an interest in politics and learning how he can help make a wide-spread difference. Peter was also a Cornerstone Fellow. He is from Northbrook, Illinois and is currently a junior at University of Wisconsin - Madison. In his spare time, Peter loves to spend time with his camp friends, playing music, and reading about Israel. He's most looking forward to exploring his relationship with Israel and deepening his understanding of its people, its history, and its future. Peter is also very talented at drawing, though few people realize that he's colorblind!

Preston Neimeiser

We welcome Preston Neimeiser from Tallahassee, Florida. Preston is a junior at Florida State University and a URJ Camp Coleman alum. His hobbies include playing and listening to music, exploring, reading, and eating delicious food, though he's never eaten at Taco Bell. Preston is excited to see how The Nachshon Project will help him expand his horizons and grow both as a person and as a leader in the Jewish community.

Rachel Glazer

Gainesville, GA

Rachel Glazer brings unique leadership experiences to The Nachshon Project from her university, where she served as an RA and founded the Interfaith Alliance, from Georgia Thespians, where she was a state student officer, and from her school's debate team, where she amassed over 1500 National Forensic League points. Rachel also participated in various fellowships, including Olim, Cornerstone, Service Core, and Bronfman. She loves photography, improvisational comedy, writing, singing, playing the ukulele, and enjoying nature, and she hopes to one day work with women's rights on the international level. She was also inspired by her upbringing in Georgia to work towards strengthening the Southern Jewish identity. Rachel is excited to see how her hobbies and skills can one day help her serve the Jewish community, as well as making a strong bond to Israel and to the other Fellows this semester.

Rose Levenson

Rose is a junior at Mount Holyoke College, where she studies Psychology and Education. During her summers at URJ Crane Lake Camp, Rose incorporates these fields in her passionate work with children to give them a fun and enriching Jewish experience. This upcoming summer, she will serve as Unit Head for 7, 8, and 9 year olds. In the past, Rose was president of her Temple's Youth Group. Rose is involved in a wide variety of social and cultural activities at school, including the Glee Club (of which she is president), the Varsity Squash team, and she acted as a campus tour guide. This coming fall, Rose has been selected as a Harriet Newhall Fellow, which will give her the role of interviewing prospective students for the college. Rose is looking forward to using her background in education to engage children with their questions and encourage them to find their own answers.
