On campus, he is the Vice President of Tikkun Olam for the Jewish Student Union, a member of the National Hillel Basketball Tournament Board, and a regular participant in all things Hillel, Chabad, or Terps for Israel. He has spent the last three summers working at Ramah Day Camp in Nyack. Michael is passionate about Jewish community life and is excited to find his path in the Jewish professional world through the Nachshon Project.

Molly Cohen is a junior at the University of Pennsylvania double majoring in political science and communications with a minor in survey research and data analytics. Hailing from right outside of Philadelphia, Molly spent seven summers as a camper and three summers as a counselor at Camp Ramah in the Poconos. She is excited to return to camp this summer to facilitate lifelong connections for the next generation of Jewish leaders! At school, Molly can almost always be found at Penn Hillel and has served as the Vice President of Shabbat and Holidays. She currently serves as the 140th President of The Daily Pennsylvanian, Penn's independent, student-run newspaper. Molly joined the Nachshon Project to learn more about uplifting opportunities for joyful Judaism.

Natalie is a third year at Hunter College and preparing for her third Kayitz at Ramah in the Rockies! During the academic year she teaches Kitot Gimmel and Dalet at the Sutton Place Synagogue. She is very passionate about the power of Jewish summer camp and is hoping to expand her leadership skills to better her camp community.

Natanya Katz

Natanya Katz is a junior at Indiana University pursuing a double-major in Jewish Studies and International Studies. Natanya sings and serves as the student director of IU’s Jewish A Cappella group, Hooshir. She also serves as the president of the Jewish Studies Student Association, planning programs to bring together IU’s undergraduate Jewish Studies students. Natanya grew up entrenched in the Jewish community of Indianapolis and spent many summers at URJ Goldman Union Camp Institute in Zionsville, IN just outside of Indianapolis. In her Jewish Studies endeavors, Natanya is particularly drawn to the intricacies of gender characterizations in Jewish tradition, the history and ongoing impact of the Spanish Inquisition and Expulsion, and Latin Jewry. As a part of the Nachshon Project, Natanya is looking forward to further developing her Jewish leadership skills and learning about wider opportunities within the Jewish professional world.

Rachel is a junior at Marquette University studying Educational Studies and Communication Studies. She is currently serving as the Student Board President at her Hillel and previously served as the Shabbat Chair. Rachel is also involved in her Jewish Student Union on campus serving as the Vice President. In addition to Jewish extracurriculars, Rachel participates in the club adaptive abilities, helping people with disabilities learn how to ski and snowboard. Additionally, she works as the elementary school teacher at Temple Emanu-El in Waukesha WI, teaching 1-3rd graders. Rachel is passionate about making a change in education and exploring how she can incorporate Judaism into her career path.

Originally from Boynton Beach, Florida, Samantha is double majoring in Journalism and Media Studies and Jewish Studies at Rutgers University. She served on Hillel board as a religious community co-chair for two years. She is currently serving as a research assistant to a professor studying Jewish abortion activism which gave her the opportunity to present at the American Academy of Religion conference last fall. Samantha also interned for the Rutgers Jewish Film Festival. She has spent six summers as a camper and three as a counselor at Camp Ramah Darom. She is excited to return as a Unit Head this summer. Samantha is passionate about Jewish education and is excited to further explore new connections and ideas through the Nachshon project.

Shaun Slamowitz

Shaun Slamowitz is a junior at Queens College majoring in Psychology, with a concentration in Industrial Organizational (IO) Psychology. Shaun is also learning Talmudic law and religious studies at Yeshiva Beni Torah. Shaun is an alum of Camp Stone and has been staff there since 2018. For the past three years he has been the Rosh Village (Village Director), which is Camp Stone’s historical experiential education center. This upcoming summer he will be undertaking the role of Rosh Tzevet (Chief of Staff). Shaun is passionate about developing Jewish leadership and is excited to learn and grow in his leadership style.

Sophie Kieffer is a junior at Brown University studying Religious Studies. On campus, Sophie manages the student-run garden, leads the Religious Literacy Project, and guides backpacking trips. She directs the Earthy Jews Collective where she cultivates community through collective experiences designed to engage the heart, soul, and body. Sophie is committed to a thriving Southern Judaism that embraces and empowers all in their individual identity and collective experience.
