Ilana Sandberg

Ilana Sandberg was born and raised in Cambridge, Massachusetts. She is on a bit of an atypical educational route: after high school she took a gap year on Nativ (in Israel) and then another “gap year” at Muhlenberg College. When she transferred to Barnard and List College after that she was faced with another four years of college. Ilana is majoring in English and Bible but more importantly she is a member of Pizmon, the Jewish a cappella group on campus of which she was the music director last year. This past summer Ilana was a rosh edah at Ramah Galim--a brand new specialty camp on the beaches of Northern California. She will be returning to continue building this camp this coming summer and hopefully for many more to come; the Ramah camping movement is on her list of ideal jobs within her aspirations to pursue Jewish informal education. Ilana is inspired by Jewish music and the ever changing traditions and communal values surfaced within that music.
