Josh Cohen is from Marietta, GA and studies Natural Resources Recreation and Tourism at the University of Georgia.  An Eagle Scout through the Boy Scouts of America, Josh’s Jewish identity was forged from his summers spent at Camp Ramah Darom, most recently as the Assistant Head of the Camping Department. Josh is active in Chabad and in AEPi, and was president of the wrestling team at Florida State University before transferring to Georgia.  With his passion for the outdoors, Josh hopes one day to combine this love with education.

Kevin Wolf

Camp Stone

Kevin Wolf is studying computer science at the University of Michigan. He is from Bergenfield, NJ and attended the Frisch School for high school and then went on to learn at Yeshivat Orayta in Israel for two incredible years. After yeshiva, Kevin worked at Camp Stone where he learned about the importance of being a role model to others in every situation and environment. On campus, Kevin quickly became the head of the O-Minyan (Orthodox) and then created an organization called the “FRAת” to try to bring Friendly Relatable Accessible תורה to campus. He is also the Co-Chair of MuJew, a Muslim-Jewish dialogue group on campus, where student try to discuss the similarities between their traditions and how those traditions can be difficult to uphold in America. Kevin is constantly inspired by the moments of potential connection that Judaism creates through the mitzvot and these commandments continually remind him to be mindful in life and teach others about the values of the Jewish people. Kevin hopes to make Jewish education more inspiring, applicable and compelling than it currently is through passion, meaning and computer science.

Madeline Budman

URJ Camp Coleman

Madeline Budman is originally from Norfolk, Virginia, and she is currently a student at Georgetown University in Washington, DC. She is pursuing a major in English as well as double minors in Jewish Civilization and Women's and Gender Studies. She discovered Jewish camping as a high school junior at the URJ Kutz Camp. Since then, she worked as a member of the Avodah cohort at Kutz and then a cabin counselor for the youngest unit at URJ Camp Coleman. More recently, Madeline has been a "GUish intern" for the Georgetown Jewish chaplaincy, engaging first year Jewish students and spearheading a Caring Committee program. She is inspired by Judaism's complexities and contradictions, loves working through texts to understand them, and is especially interested in ritual practice and writing creative and innovative midrash. Madeline hopes to become a rabbi and work for the Reform movement.

Max Hirsch

Camp Ramah Berkshires

Max is from Long Island, New York, and is studying Film and Media Studies at Tufts University. On campus, he is active in Hillel, Chabad, and Friends of Israel. Max is spent four semesters as coordinator of the Conservative Minyan at Hillel, and recently served as the Holidays Chair For the past three summers, Max has worked as a bunk counselor at Camp Ramah in the Berkshires, where he also spent eight years as a camper.  Max has relished the opportunity to bring his passion for Judaism and living a Jewish life to Jewish youth at Camp.  He is constantly striving to find creative solutions to the challenges that arise to ensure the best possible Jewish experience for the people around him.

Maya Guthman

Maya Guthman is originally from Bethesda, Maryland. She is currently a junior at Indiana University, where she is studying Psychology, Political Science, and Jewish Studies. On campus, she is very involved in Indiana University's Dance Marathon, where she has served on both the Logistics and Hospital Relation's committees. She is also an active member of the Sigma Delta Tau Sorority. In high school, Maya served as BBYO's International S'ganit (Vice President of Programming), along with multiple other leadership positions which have shaped her into the leader she is today. Maya has grown up at Camp JRF and has has taken on various roles on staff. This upcoming summer, she will serve as "Rosh Nehalim". Maya is constantly inspired by the Jewish community and is looking forward to to engaging with her peers, challenging herself, and growing as a member of the Jewish community through the Nachshon program.

Molly Kazan

Camp Interlaken JCC

Molly Kazan is from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She is a junior at the University of Wisconsin-Madison majoring in Psychology with minors in Criminal Justice and Jewish Studies. She was the Community Engagement Intern at Hillel last year and is also very involved in Chabad on campus. Both organizations provide Molly with unique experiences and the opportunity to connect with people who share her Jewish values. She has also been a Team Leader for Badger Volunteers, a campus organization that serves the greater Madison community. She spent five summers as a camper at Camp Livingston. For the past three summers she has worked at Camp Interlaken, where last summer she was the Unit Leader for the youngest age group. While she is unsure of her plans post-graduation, Molly looks forward to learning and growing through the opportunities provided as a Nachshon Fellow!

Raya Seidman

URJ Camp OSRUI

Raya was born and raised in Springfield, Illinois. She currently attends Indiana University where she is majoring in Youth Development and minoring in Jewish Studies. On campus, she has served as an active member of her Hillel's Board of Directors, and as chapter President of Sigma Delta Tau, a Jewish sorority. In addition, she bikes in Indiana University's annual Little 500 bicycle race. Raya spent a semester in high school in Israel, and grew up as a camper at Camp OSRUI. As a result, Judaism has provided me with a sense of identidy and a core set of values. She has been on staff at Camp OSRUI in Wisconsin for four summers. At camp she is a counselor for fourth through seventh graders, and the last two summers she has been the unit medic. Raya plans to lead Jewish youth with culture, spirituality, religion and community in order to guide them on a Jewish path of their own.

Sam Balogh

Sam Balogh is from Denver, Colorado and spends his summers at Camp Ramah in California. This past summer was his tenth summer at camp with the Ramah movement.  Sam is a junior at Emory University in Atlanta where he is studying Anthropology.  On campus he is an active participant at Emory Hillel and a tour guide for the Emory Student Ambassadors program. For Sam, Judaism has always been about community, and it is for this reason that he hopes to pursue a career in Jewish communal work.

Sam Weiner

University of Wisconsin - Madison

Camp Ramah Wisconsin

Sam Weiner was born in Washington D.C. but grew up in Deerfield, IL. He is majoring in Chemistry and getting a certificate in Education and Educational Services at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Sam is a member of the Running Club at school and he also spends three days a week teaching at the local Hebrew school. He is the Jewish Community Intern at Hillel where he is in charge of coordinating Conservative services and other Jewish programming on campus. Sam worked at Camp Ramah in Wisconsin last summer as a counselor for Atzmayim, the vocational program for young adults with special needs, and spent the previous two summers as a counselor in Tikvah for the younger kids with special needs. Sam feels that the wonderful experiences he’s had in Jewish communities across the country, at home, and at camp, have inspired him stay connected with Judaism wherever he is. In the future, he hopes to work with children and the sciences and possibly continue working with individuals with special needs.

Samantha Agranoff

Herzl Camp

Samantha is from Saint Paul, MN. She is currently a junior at the University of Kansas majoring in Social Work while studying for a minor in Jewish Studies. Sam is a student leader at KU Hillel, a member of chapter standards board for the service sorority Omega Phi Alpha, and a member of the club ultimate team: Betty Ultimate. Last summer Sam worked at Herzl Camp as bunk staff for the oldest campers. The most inspiring thing about Judaism, for Sam, is the way Judaism grows with you rather than staying stagnant; she loves the ability to "build your own Jewish." Post graduation she hopes to get a Masters in Social Work and is thinking about work as a Social Worker at a Jewish Federation, an inner-city high school, or a juvenile detention center.
