This winter break she will have the privilege of helping lead an interfaith campus leadership trip to both Israel and the West Bank. Jackie has never been to a Jewish camp, involved with a youth group, or been a member of a synagogue-- for most of her life her Jewish identity was predicated on her "political" connection to Israel. It was only until this summer, when she went to Israel for the first time that Judaism really started playing a central role in her life. Jackie is inspired by the way Judaism gives her a sense of purpose and a lens through which she can approach the world. She doesn’t know exactly what she wants to do in the future- she possibly sees a career in public policy- but she knows that Judaism will somehow play a role.
