Allison Reich

Allison Reich is a junior at Macaulay Honors College at Hunter College and is majoring in psychology and minoring in sociology. She grew up in Queens, New York, attending Jewish day school and playing an active role in her synagogue’s youth group. Allison attended the Yeshiva University High School for Girls and spent her year after high school studying at a seminary in Jerusalem. Allison has also enjoyed her time both as a camper and a counselor at Moshava I.O., which helped her further develop her Jewish identity and love for Israel. At Hunter College, she served as vice president of Hunter Hillel, as well as an engagement intern. Allison also facilitated interfaith programming with several faith-based groups on campus as an Interfaith Entrepreneur Fellow.

Ashley Jones

Ashley is from the North Shore suburbs of Chicago and grew up attending Congregation BJBE. In high school, she served as the President of her NFTY region and was a Machonik at her religious school for 5 years. Ashley attends Rutgers University where she studies Political Science and Jewish Studies. On campus, she is on the Reform Board of Rutgers Hillel and a member of Phi Mu Fraternity. Ashley has been on staff at URJ OSRUI for 4 summers and will be the S’ganit of her Eidah this summer, Kibbutz HaTzofim. Camp is Ashley’s favorite place because she gets to influence the next generation of Jewish youth while forming her own Jewish identity. In the future, Ashley hopes to attend Hebrew Union College to continue her love for Jewish studies.

Dana Brown

Brandeis University
South Bend, IN

A junior at Brandeis University, Dana majors in Near Eastern and Judaic Studies. Dana is an active member in Hillel, and co-founder of a cross-denominational learning programming at Brandeis. This passion for community building started in her hometown South Bend, Indiana; this is where she witnessed the agency and dedication central to American Small Town Jewry. After moving to the Boston suburbs, Dana used her tools from her small Jewish community to embark on a personal journey of Jewish literacy and education that led Dana to The Pardes Institute of Jewish Studies. This passion for learning not only motivated individual choices, but also intentional educator roles such as: the Boston Diller Teen Fellows Intern and preschool teaching assistant at Lemberg Children’s Center. Dana seeks to be an educator invested in inclusive education, with a commitment to empower each individual student through a social justice pedagogy framework.

Danielle Sobel

Dani is from Rockville, Maryland. She is a junior at the University of Central Florida, where she studies Human Communication and Theatre. On campus, Dani has been involved with Central Florida Hillel, YEHUDI, JNF, the Outdoor Adventure Center and TheatreUCF. Last year, she created the “Jewish Leaders of Tomorrow” team for UCF’s dance marathon- KnightTHON- so Hillel could be represented at the event. This summer, Dani will be returning to URJ Camp Harlam as an Assistant Unit-Head for Chavurah (the oldest campers in camp). In previous summers, she worked as a Waterfront specialty counselor. In the future, Dani hopes to work with children or young adults in an environment that combines a love of Judaism and the arts.

Eli Burg

Eli is originally from Petaluma, California and is a junior at San Francisco State University working towards dual majors in Modern Jewish Studies and Recreation Parks and Tourism. He served as SF Hillel’s interim student president, guiding the community through a period of leadership transition. He is also a brother of AEPi and has been a key factor in renewing the brotherhood’s commitment to Jewish living, and organizing religious and cultural events for San Francisco's Jewish students. Eli has also spent 14 summers at URJ Camp Newman, and has been on staff for the last four. He has also worked for NFTY Central West Region as head staff and been responsible for coordinating event logistics, hiring and supervising staff members, and mentoring the regional board. Eli is motivated by his love for the outdoors and the fusion of Jewish and outdoor education, and hopes to find a career that combines these.

Esther Schlossberg

Esther is a junior at Muhlenberg College double majoring in Public Health and Jewish Studies. She is from West Hartford, Connecticut, where she was very active in the local Jewish community. On campus, Esther is involved within Muhlenberg Hillel, The Delta Zeta Sorority, Peer Health Advocates at Muhlenberg (PHAM), Chabad Student Center, and Mules for Israel. She has spent 9 summers at Camp Ramah in New England, where she was a camper and counselor. In high school, Esther was very active within USY, where she served as the Regional Religion and Education Vice President. In the future, Esther hopes to combine her two passions of Public Health and love of Judaism.

Eva Wyner

Eva grew up in the suburbs of Philadelphia, where she attended Perelman Jewish Day School and Barrack Hebrew Academy. She was president of her high school’s Israel Club and was an active participant in efforts to enrich Jewish life at school and in her youth group, USY. Following high school, she participated in the gap year program, Kivunim, where she lived in Israel and traveled around the world learning about Jewish history in order to develop a mutual consciousness with Judaism and other world religions and cultures. Eva is currently studying American History and Modern Jewish Studies in the joint program between Columbia University and the Jewish Theological Seminary. Within the List College community, she has chaired new student orientation as well as social events ranging from shabbat dinners to winter formal. She is an active member in Hillel, most notably, taking on leadership roles through Aryeh: Columbia Student’s Association for Israel, serving on the Orthodox religious community’s board and Sharsheret. Since high school she has been a committed AIPAC member, lobbying members of Congress and continues to represent Columbia at events and conferences. In the future, Eva hopes to continue to foster communities grounded in pluralist values in support of her belief in the coexistence of multiple opinions and religious beliefs, including pluralism within the Jewish community.

Hannah Borow

Hannah is from Cleveland, Ohio and is studying History, Education and Psychology at The Ohio State University. Hannah serves as on the Buckeyes for Israel board, as a philanthropy chair of her sorority Alpha Epsilon Phi, and on the Schottenstein Chabad House board. Hannah is also the youth advisor for a local USY chapter. Before college, Hannah was extremely involved in USY serving on the chapter, regional, and international level and going on summer programs. The past two summers Hannah has staffed USY on Wheels, working with high school students from across the country as a Jewish mentor and counselor. Hannah is inspired by the passion and commitment of her Jewish community and hopes to give back to this community in her future career.

Henry Weltman

Sudbury, MA

Henry is from Sudbury, MA, just west of Boston. He studied at Tulane University for two years, where he majored in Economics and Marketing. Henry served as a Tulane Ambassador giving tours of the campus to prospective students and held the position of VP of Programming in the Residence Hall Association. Additionally, Henry was involved at Hillel, through fundraising, programming, and planning & attending Shabbat rituals, as well as working as the receptionist for two years.  He was nominated by the director of Perlman Camp to the Foundation for Jewish Camps where he started as a Cornerstone Fellow. Based on that, he was invited to fulfill a six-month long internship for the Cornerstone Seminar working closely with the programming team, and finally being appointed to a board position on the Cornerstone Alumni Board, where he provides direct feedback to the educators and assists in developing seminar programming. For 14 years, Henry has spent his summers in Lake Como PA at Perlman Camp. For the last three summers, he was a head counselor, working with the youngest campers. In the summer of 2019, he will be counselor to the oldest campers on their Pioneer year and will lead the group of over twenty teens on a meaningful trip through Israel. In the future, Henry hopes to join the full-time staff at Perlman Camp and maybe one day become a camp director.

Jamie Gottlieb

American University
Cherry Hill, NJ

Jamie Gottlieb is originally from Cherry Hill, NJ, but is currently living in Washington D.C. where she is studying Judaic Studies and Leadership and Management at the American University. Jamie is a proud member of Sigma Delta Tau social sorority, as well as Pitches Be Trippin’ acapella. Jamie is also an active member of American University Hillel having served as the Jewish Student Association’s Religious and Cultural director. Jamie has also interned for several different organizations in both Israel and the United States. These  organizations include the Ethiopian National Project, Adas Israel Community Mikvah, Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism and Hillel International. Jamie is passionate about music, spirituality, learning, and education. She hopes to become a Rabbi who brings communities together by sharing in love of exploration and engagement with Jewish identity and practice.
