Adam Grimes is a senior at the University of Michigan studying public policy. On campus, Adam has served as a leader in his Hillel's Israel education space and continues to act as a leading advocate against antisemitism. He is passionate about political advocacy in the Jewish community, having interned for the venerable Ted Deutch in Congress and founding Michigan's foremost student-led political organization, FlipBlue. Currently, Adam is an intern for the Wilson Center Middle East Program where he researches Israel and its newfound partnerships in the Middle East. Following the Nachshon Project, Adam hopes to one day serve the Jewish community in a political advocacy role.

Alana is a senior at the University of Michigan, majoring in Political Science and Judaic Studies, and minoring in Community Action and Social Change through the School of Social Work. Alana spent 10 summers as a camper at URJ Camp Harlam, and 3 as a staff member. Alana served as Michigan Hillel’s Chair of the Governing Board from 2020 to 2021. She now works as the Supervisor for their Matzah Ball Soup delivery program, known as Jewish Penicillin Hotline. She also serves as a Judaic Studies Student Ambassador on Campus. During the summer of 2022, Alana interned in the Development Department of the American Jewish Committee, through their Goldman Fellowship Summer Program. She now serves on their Campus Global Board. Alana is spending the first semester of her senior year as the Development intern for the Jewish Democratic Council of America. Continuing on this path, Alana hopes to work in the Jewish nonprofit world, and one day attend graduate school.

Alyssa is a senior at University of Wisconsin-Madison studying Neurobiology (BS), Psychology (BS), on the pre-medtrack, with a minor in Jewish studies. She recently served as Sorority president for Sigma Delta Tau Alpha Nu Chapter, has consistently been apart of the UW-chabad family, partakes in an acapella group on campus called Redefined, and was Ramah college Network coordinator until this year. Alyssa is also a research assistant in the department of Psychiatry in the women’s mental health unit and has been for three years. Alyssa has been apart of the Ramah Berkshires community for 15 years and has most recently been a division leader. Alyssa hopes to soon find herself back in Israel and contributing in someway to leadership in the Jewish community.

Ana is a senior at UC Berkeley studying Psychology and Anthropology. This year, she serves on the Hillel Board as a Vice President and Student Events coordinator, working to strengthen engagement at UC Berkeley Hillel. She is also on the Board of the only Jewish Coop in Berkeley, helping to organize and plan housewide and larger community events for Jewish holidays and Shabbats. She is also a fellow at the Hellen Diller Institute for Jewish Law and Israel Studies working with Berkeley Professors to research and create academic focused programming focused in Jewish Law and Israel Studies. She is also a member of Suitcase Clinic, a student-run organization and volunteer community that offers free health and social services to underserved populations, and a part of Cal Climbing and Swing Dance Club. During the summer, Ana calls Camp Ramah in Ojai home and spent last summer benefitting from the greater Ramah Community as a counselor on Ramah Seminar in Israel.

Daniel Brot is a Senior at the College of William & Mary in Virginia. He is double majoring in government and religious studies. In his first two years of college he was on the executive board for Hillel’s and a collegiate Model United Nations Tournament. In his summers he has worked at OSRUI, a URJ camp and political internships. Before joining the Nachshon Project, he studied abroad in England for a semester.

Dena is from South Orange, New Jersey. She is a senior at Rutgers University in New Brunswick where she is majoring in Psychology and minoring in Jewish Studies and Women’s and Gender Studies. On campus Dena is involved in both Hillel and Chabad and serves as the Ramah Campus Fellow at Rutgers. Dena attended Camp Ramah in the Poconos for many years as a camper and then spent three summers there on staff. Her love of the Jewish community and passion for leadership led her to participate in the Nachshon Project. Her semester in Israel with Cohort 8 inspired Dena to want to go to graduate school and work in the Jewish nonprofit world.

Ellen is a senior at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill studying Political Science and Global Studies with a minor in Middle Eastern Languages. Ellen grew up in Charlotte, NC as part of the Reform congregation at Temple Beth El. On campus, Ellen serves as the lead songleader for UNC Hillel and has served as a JLF intern. Ellen also worked as a counselor for NFTY in Israel in summer 2022. Ellen is passionate about social justice and politics, as well as their intersections with Judaism. Aside from Hillel, Ellen interns for You Can Vote, a North Carolina voter education and registration organization, helping to get out the vote on UNC’s campus. She also is a tour guide on campus and president of her all-female a capella group, UNC Cadence. Ellen hopes to combine her love for Judaism, politics, and social justice in her future career.

Emma is from Chicago, IL. She is a senior at the College of Charleston in South Carolina, majoring in Jewish Studies and Public Health. Emma is involved in Hillel, CHAARG, and her sorority Sigma Kappa on campus. Emma attended Blue Star camps in North Carolina for many years as a camper and then spent five summers at Perlman Camp on staff. Emma found the Nachshon Project through Perlman and friends who were participants in the past. In addition, before College, Emma spent two years in the Israel Defense Forces serving as a Liason for the Israeli/Palestinian populations. Emma hopes to continue working in the camp world and pursuing a social work degree.
