Samantha Alexander is a senior at the University of Rhode Island. She is finishing her major in kinesiology along with her minor in human development and family science. Her first summer at a Ramah camp, she worked as a camp counselor/assistant coach at RSA located in her local town in CT. Before her arrival at the university, she was already involved at the URI Hillel. She served all four years on Hillel’s leadership board as well as the URI Chabad board. She currently serves as the president of Chabad and handles her duties as an event coordinator. Samantha is thrilled to be a part of her Jewish community and cannot wait to hear more of what Nachshon has to offer.

Sarah Bernstein is a senior at Brandeis University, double majoring in Education Studies and Near Eastern & Judaic Studies, with a minor in Psychology. She is involved with many activities on campus, including Hillel, Masorti, and Big Siblings. Sarah served as the Brandeis Hillel President for 2021 and continues to serve on the Board of Directors for 2021 and 2022. She is passionate about Jewish education and is a Research Assistant for the Jewish Day Schools History Project for the Mandel Center for Studies in Jewish Education. Sarah is also a Hebrew School teacher for a local conservative synagogue. This past summer, Sarah served as an intern to the CEO of the Jewish Federation of Greater Fairfield County. She gained exposure to many areas of the organization, worked on various projects, and participated in high-level, confidential meetings on issues important to the community. She particularly enjoyed developing a new fund, called the Future Fund, which will provide scholarships for students in 8th grade through college who want to participate in a variety of Jewish/Israel experiences. In addition, she developed the tefillah curriculum for k-7, at Congregation Shaarei Tikvah in Scarsdale, NY. Sarah’s love for the Jewish community and passion to pursue a career in the Jewish world led her to the Nachshon Project.
