How does this work?

As a Nachshon Project Fellow, you’ll join a select cohort of driven Jewish undergraduates for a year of career exploration, leadership development, and deep Jewish learning. The Fellowship is built around three weekend-long conferences in different U.S. cities, where you’ll meet leading professionals in Jewish education, the rabbinate, and other communal roles. These practitioners will share not just what they do, but why they do it—what motivates them, how they make an impact, and why it might inspire you. Each conference includes intensive Jewish text study, meaningful conversations, and the chance to network with passionate peers who are also thinking about how they can shape the future of Jewish life.

The experience culminates in a week-long trip to Israel, where Fellows build personal connections to the land, people, culture, and politics. You'll explore how Israel fits into your identity as a leader, and how you can help others connect with Israel in your future career—whether that’s in a classroom, on a pulpit, at camp, or in a community setting.
